My third domain sale

I just made my third domain sale.
So exciting, i love the whole process from start to finish. For the first time, this actually involved offers and counter offers which added to the thrill.

Its not big bucks or anything, but its a reasonable profit.

This latest sale was an adult related .com domain, i actually bought this domain name about six months ago. I paid the standard GoDaddy fee (after the discount coupon) of $7.49 (USD).

I listed the domain for USD$99. It ended up selling for USD$70. Its a tidy profit, not enough to make me rich, but it gets you thinking. If i could just sell 100 domains a month and make a profit of $65 per domain, you'd be looking at $6500 profit.

I figure that, if you want to really make money buying and selling domains, its really just a numbers game. Get a high turnover of domain sales at a small but reasonable profit.
Lets face it, of course it would be nice to find that big whopper valuable name and sell for five or six figures, but they're pretty hard to find these days, at the least its very competitive, especially for newbies, which i consider myself to be. To be truthful, a lot of my domains are listed for sale, its not that i necessarily want to sell them.

But its good to get an idea of what they're really worth, and the best way to do that is to test the market - see what people will pay for them. I still haven't managed to find a reliable, accurate and not to mention cheap domain valuation/estimate tool.

Of course, there is Estibot, Nameboy, DNScoop. You can take an average of the results from those services, but at the end of the day - your domain is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.

For those of you that are interested, this domain sold at GoDaddy/TDNam.
The one before this one, also sold at TDNam (before that, Ebay believe it or not).

I know some people haven't had great experiences with GoDaddy as a whole, but i've found the whole sale process at TDNam a real breeze...except for getting paid that is...that parts really slow - up to 30 days, and they often utilise this period to the full..kind of makes you want to hold on to the domain for a bit longer, especially when you can monetize the domain/site till the very end that way.
By the way, i think there is a sign-up charge of $7/year to join the GoDaddy auction market. Other than that, there are no extra charges or commissions for selling domains.

Tell me about your experience selling domain names? Where do you list your domains for sale?
